Birds and Blooms!

  • Pound Ridge Land Conservancy 1361 Old Post Rd Pound Ridge United States (map)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with PRLC on a guided hike through the Armstrong Preserve! This moderately challenging walk will explore the intersection of birding and botany, offering participants the chance to observe spring migrant birds while also learning how to identify trees by their spring characteristics—leaves, buds, bark, and branching patterns.

Led by PRLC’s Director of Land Stewardship, Dave, this two-hour hike will take you through a mix of woodland habitats, highlighting both the songs in the canopy and the signs of new growth in our forests. Whether you're a seasoned birder, or just curious about the natural world, this outing is a great way to deepen your connection to local ecology.

*Please wear sturdy footwear, bring a water bottle, and bring binoculars if you have them. All ages welcome, but the terrain includes some hills and rocky, uneven paths.
