PRLC Calendar of Walks/Talks
Join local naturalists and PRLC Board members, Brenda Bates and Rick Rogers for a series of guided walks. All walks are on Saturday mornings starting at 10 a.m. Children welcome.
January 10th
Explore the many trails of the 70-acre Clark Preserve. Weave your way through meadow, wetlands and woodlands. Meet at the parking lot kiosk off Autumn Ridge Road.
February 14th
A winter-wonderland Valentine’s Day walk at the Halle Ravine located off Trinity Pass. Meet at the trail-side kiosk.
March 14th
Join Rick Rogers at the Ward PR Reservation shelter located at the end of Michigan Road for fire-roasted marshmallows and hot drinks. Learn about the history of the Reservation and the work of the civilian conservation corp before heading out for a guided walk.
April 11th
Explore Carolin’s Grove and the vernal pools, tadpoles and salamanders that live in them. Identify early spring flora and see if you can find a jack-in-the pulpit! Meet at the parking lot kiosk off Stone Hill Road.
May 9th
Don’t miss our first birding excursion at the Russell Preserve off High Ridge Road at the highpoint of migration. Local birding experts will be joining us. Binoculars and cameras a must!
June 13th
The Grand Opening hike for our Armstrong-to-Richards-to-Ward PR Reservation Leatherman’s Cave. This extensive new trail system will run from the Armstrong Preserve through DEP property and the Richards Preserve off Honey Hollow Road to Reservation trails and the Leatherman’s Cave. Meet at the base parking lot of the Armstrong House of Rt 121. More to come on this new trail.
